The ‘txuri-urdin’ team beat Getafe (2-0) and the Pamplonicas came back to beat Elche (2-1)

MADRID, 8 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Sociedad beat Getafe 2-0 with goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Take Kubo, recovering their verve at home during a 28th matchday of LaLiga Santander that this Saturday also witnessed Athletic Club’s triumph on their visit to Espanyol ( 1-2) and Osasuna’s comeback against Elche (2-1), thus prolonging the Pamplona party after their recent access to the Copa del Rey final.

El Sadar vibrated again with his team, mounted on the back of an Abde Ezzalzouli in a state of grace. His two beautifully crafted goals turned around Tete Morente’s initial goal for bottom club Elche. On the brink of rest, the Elche team had gone ahead with their low shot after a quick cut as it entered the corner of the area.

But the rojillos came out of the break with enthusiasm and braided an effective play down the right wing in min.71, with Kike Barja assisting Abde on the opposite side, to clinch the net. The Moroccan striker achieved his brace with a great goal from outside the area (84′), shooting from a standing position and sending the ball into the top corner. With 38 points, Osasuna remains in the middle of the table, looking askance upwards.

On the other hand, the stands of the RCDE Stadium suffered the success of the Williams brothers to heal the wounds from Bilbao due to their recent cup elimination. Iñaki Williams made it 0-1 at min.22, with a goal on the run and a shot from the cross as soon as he entered the rival area. Espanyol responded with a goal from Martin Braithwaite just before the interval, but it was disallowed by a handball on his shot.

The visitors made it 0-2 after 75′, through Nico Williams, with a right foot from the left side and adjusted to the post at mid-height. Sergi Darder closed the gap, taking advantage of a ball after a bad clearance from Unai Simón in a corner, but did not escape relegation (27 points) after another defeat.

OYARZABAL MISSES A PENALTY AND GETS COMPENSATION

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad had a comfortable afternoon in front of their fans. Getafe caused little concern for Álex Remiro’s goal and had to face a penalty against it, awarded by referee Melero López at the behest of the VAR. It was 44′ and the azulón goalkeeper David Soria guessed the shot by Oyarzabal, who made up for it on the next play by heading to make it 1-0 after a rebound from a shot by Brais Méndez.

With the score in favor, the team from San Sebastián liked it during the second half and sealed the victory with a 2-0 win by Kubo, who finished off an assist from Mikel Merino almost with pleasure after Oyarzabal had prevented the ball from going over the line band. With 51 points, Real remains in fourth place in the League; Getafe, meanwhile, with 30 points, continues to appear in the dangerous zone.
