Real Madrid qualified in the last four of the Champions League on Tuesday evening, after overthrowing Chelsea (0-2) in London.

Chelsea hosted Real Madrid this Tuesday evening, at Stamford Bridge, in London, in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League. While the Merengues had quietly disposed of the Blues (2-0) during the first leg, Frank Lampard’s men had to achieve a semi-feat to prevent Carlo Ancelotti’s troops from leaving with the qualifying ticket in the semi-finals of the competition.

In the first half, the high pressing installed by the Blues managed to hinder the Merengues in their raises and their low construction, to the point where Chelsea were able to benefit from several big opportunities to open the scoring, in particular with the missed volley from N’Golo Kanté (10th), the multiple centers inspired by Reece James (37th) or even the strike of Marc Cucurella (45th + 1). But Real Madrid has always managed to repel the danger thanks to its defense of a great Eder Militao or its eternal goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Note despite everything the opportunities of the people of Madrid with the post hit by Rodrygo (19th) but also the two attempts of Vinicius (26th, 42nd). At the break, the two teams remained on a clean sheet with a provisional qualification of Real Madrid.

In the second half, despite new attacking opportunities from Chelsea with a second miss from Kanté from the penalty spot (53′) and a soft shot from Kai Havertz (56′), it was Real Madrid who opened the scoring in This meeting. After a loss of ball from Chalobah, Rodrygo overflowed very quickly on the right side in a perfectly carried out counter action then attempted the cross at ground level. Benzema missed the recovery but the ball fell back into the feet of Vinicius who was able to temporize to restore the leather to Rodrygo perfectly demarcated in the axis. The Brazilian took his time to frame and open the scoring (58th, 0-1). And on a Federico Valverde festival, Rodrygo offered himself a double by pushing the ball to the bottom without a goalkeeper (80th, 0-2).

With this result, Real Madrid is therefore heading into the semi-finals of the Champions League with an aggregate score (4-0) against Chelsea and is waiting to find out if their next opponent will be Manchester City or Bayern Munich. As a reminder, the Citizens had beaten the Bavarians in the first leg (3-0).
