Petra Kvitová took away a little girl’s dream. Autographs are not mandatory, say fans

Tennis player Petra Kvitová (33) won the jubilee 30th career title in Miami. Immediately after the win over Kazakh Rybakinová, she went to celebrate with her team. However, footage appeared on the Internet in which she refused a little girl asking for an autograph. Fans are now debating whether signing autographs is her duty.

Right at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Petra Kvitová decided to celebrate her great success with the team that accompanied her and supported her. But one of the tennis fans was pushing a little girl towards her group, probably her daughter, who, according to a video posted on social networks, was trying to get an autograph from the winner.

The Kvitova girl indicated with a gesture that now is not a good time to sign. In addition, the website Aktuálně.cz drew attention to the fact that after the end of the tournament she had a number of duties, such as ceremonies, photo shoots and press conferences. Nevertheless, fans argue over whether the tennis player even had the right to reject the little fan.

“There is nothing that excuses turning down a little girl who just wants an autograph,” read one comment on Twitter. “That kid wasn’t even supposed to be there. It wasn’t the right place or time to ask for a signature,” one of her fans defends Petra Kvitova.
