In Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, the ‘Osan Sports Civic League’, which is operated with the goal of sports for everyday life, healthy use of leisure, and common sports together, will start an 8-month long journey from April to November.
According to the city on the 12th, this league is expected to be a place for good leisure, communication and harmony, with 6 sports, 200 teams, and 1,800 citizens participating, competing with each other and enjoying a sense of achievement.
Last March, through the competition of the Osan City Sports Association, △Basketball △Badminton △Football △Table tennis △Tennis △Bowling 6 events were selected. From April to September, the preliminary league (group-specific full league) will be held for each event.
In October, a final competition (tournament) is held to determine the winning team. The final winning team in each event will play an exchange match with the best team in each other city/county event in November.
The Osan Sports Citizen League is an open sports league in which citizens can participate all year round and is operated by clubs in the region.
In particular, it is not a unity competition in which only a few club members participate, but the purpose is to induce continuous participation and interest of citizens so that all citizens can participate.
Kwon Byeong-gyu, president of the Osan City Sports Council, said, “The Civic League will do its best to settle down advanced sports in Osan City, where we can harmonize without safety accidents regardless of win or loss until November, and fully demonstrate our skills that we have honed.”
