Trecate – Saturday 15 April in Leinì the qualifications of the Italian Junior A2 Championship 2023 were held, reserved for men’s and women’s blue-brown-black belts. The ADUS Trecatese section judo was present with the athlete Simone Sauro in the -81Kg category. With two judokas registered in the category, the competition formula includes two matches (outward/return), with a possible match in the event of a tie. In the first meeting Simone wins clearly with grit and determination by ippom (maximum score), despite a shoulder injury that occurred during the competition. The medical intervention forces Simone not to continue the match, consequently the opportunity to play in the final (at hand) set for the end of April in Naples vanishes. Great regret of the technical teacher and companion Francesco Garavaglia and Simone’s disappointment for what happened, but all softened by the awareness of a future occasion.
