NFL reviews Commanders sale deal

A group led by Josh Harris and Mitchell Rales that includes Magic Johnson reached an agreement in principle to buy the team

The NFL is reviewing the sales agreement for the Washington Commandersaccording to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the details of the sale process have not been made public.

A group headed by Josh Harris y Mitchell Rales which includes Magic Johnson reached an agreement in principle to purchase the team from the current owner Dan Snyder for just over six billion dollars. The group submitted a fully funded, non-exclusive offer for the Commanderswhich has not yet been signed.

The league is reviewing the agreement before returning it for final signings. The next steps in the process include evaluation by the finance committee of the NFL and the vote of the owners. Three quarters (24 of 32 owners) must approve the sale for it to be official.

A spokesperson for Harris he declined to comment when asked about the sales process going to the league for evaluation.
