More than 400 schoolchildren will take to the streets of the urban area of A Estrada next Tuesday to celebrate the Day of Physical Education in the Street, an initiative that was born with the aim of exposing to society the benefits of the subject, giving it visibility in public spaces. In the case of Estrada, the proposal comes from the Agrupación Deportiva Escola da Estrada, with the support of all schools in the municipality, both primary and secondary.
The Day of Physical Education in the Street is celebrated next Wednesday the 26th, so initially that was the date chosen for this school activity. However, and at the proposal of the Department of Sports of the City Council of A Estrada, it was decided to bring it forward to Tuesday to avoid coinciding with the day of the fair, in which the streets are more crowded with people. The initiative will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will last until 1:00 p.m. The idea is that the schools are divided into zones, occupying the Plaza del Concello, the municipal gardens, Serafín Pazo street and Calvo Sotelo street. These central streets will be divided into zones, where schoolchildren will carry out different sports activities.

Yesterday morning, the Escola da Estrada Sports Association organized a lively day of school badminton that took place in the Coto Ferreiro pavilion, with the participation of some 180 children from different schools in the municipality who used seven game courts. Tomorrow, the A Estrada facilities will host two regional rugby concentrations, one for the Under-16 category and another for promises.
