Macalou, bronze in Galicia – The Crusader

The judoka Moussa Macalou has obtained a bronze medal in the Spanish Cup «A» of absolute category, held in Marin, Galicia. The competition has had the presence of judokas from different countries such as Spain, Portugal or the United States, among others.

The Barbastrean has achieved the bronze medal in this edition after having faced several opponents. In the first round, he competed against Pablo Bartolomé Pelayo. Later, in the second, he against Sergio Cano Martos from Andorra. In the third, he against Pablo Benítez Moreno from Madrid and in the quarterfinals he lost against Joao Crisóstomo from Portugal. In the bout that decided the bronze medal, Macalou faced Sergio Ibáñez Banon from Aragón, who is also a training partner at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR).

Before the competition, the judoka had stated that he felt in good shape and had good confidence and experience in recent competitions, although he had not obtained satisfactory results.
