The Aviles businesswoman Ceila Fernández Fernández enters the list with which the Popular Party (PP) of Avilés aspires to wrest the Mayor’s Office from the socialist Mariví Monteserín. The member of the Avilés Chamber of Commerce will go to number five, as this newspaper has learned. Four years ago, Fernández was part of the local Ciudadanos list. In that list she was ranked number six and was secretary of the local board of the orange formation in Avilés.
Ceila Fernández has a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and directs the Escadem and Asturias Educación family academies. She entered the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce with the arrival to the entity of the new president, Daniel González.
The local PP presents this afternoon in El Carbayedo the candidacy led by Esther Llamazares, who is running for mayor for the second consecutive year. Among the novelties is the entry of Carlos Fernández, vice president of Judo Avilés, who will go in fourth place.
Jorge García, one of the four PP councilors of Avilés in the current term, will repeat on the list. Who will not continue in it is the current councilor Estefanía Rodríguez.
