Jon Rahm, 2nd in the Masters: “I feel good, I feel strong”

“How difficult was it to play today (Saturday)?
It was a complicated day with difficult conditions. Obviously when we approached the 7th green it was clear to us that it was soggy. They squeegeed for a while. But with this rain it was impossible to evacuate the water. I understand they are trying to push us to play as many holes as possible. But today the weather was not with us.

How do you analyze your game?
Early this morning it was very cold. We took advantage of a few holes without rain, but the 17th and 18th are real monsters and it was raining a lot. I am very happy to have completed these holes in the par. I continued to play well the rest of the day. It’s a pity not to have been able to save at least one par on the 4 or the 5. The 5 is extremely long and 450 m in pouring rain is even longer. I feel confident, I play good golf and there is still a lot to play.

What was the most difficult shot to play because of the conditions?
The second shot of the 18th this morning. I played a 4 iron and had very little chance of hitting the green. Anyway, we had to play short. If you are too long, your ball may land in the wrong area, on a slope, etc. So I preferred to play it safe.

What are your expectations for tomorrow (Sunday)?
It looks like the weather is fine. We will therefore have good weather conditions and most likely a softer course. We have to keep playing like I did today. I feel good, I feel strong. »
