  1. 4 pm 6 pm. Vingegaard seems to want to hide between an army of Bahrain riders, but his leader’s jersey is just a bit too striking for that. In any case, the Dane anticipates the acceleration that the team will make in the peloton. .
  2. 16 hours 12. Refugees versus platoon. With 50 kilometers to go, the main question is whether the front runners can stay ahead of the peloton. They have a 4 minute lead, but how much do they need before they tackle the final climb? .
  3. 4:04 pm. The leading group knows that their lead is shrinking, but the hatchet is not yet buried. The quintet continues to rotate well. .
  4. 15h 54. A copy of the previous two climbs. Barrenetxea takes full advantage, ahead of Josseaume and Vanhoucke. .
  5. 3:50 PM. Daniel Martinez. Ineos has placed an army at the head of the pack. With Martinez they have last year’s winner in their ranks, but the Colombian is already more than one minute behind Vingegaard. Then go for a stage win? .
  6. 4’30”. In the leading group, the hope of a stage victory will have taken a blow. Their lead of 7 minutes has already shrunk to 4’30”. . 15 hours 48.
  7. 15:47. Barrenetxea is already shuffling in his saddle. Within half a kilometer he can compete again for the mountain points. .
  8. 15 hours 44. In the peloton things are not going fast enough for some. Luke Plapp speeds up and pulls the head. .
  9. Bezi (3rd cat.). There’s the Bezi. A climb of 3.8 kilometers at 6% average. . 3:37 pm.
  10. 3:32 pm. The peloton is still waiting with their overtaking maneuver. The difference increases again to almost 7 minutes. .
  11. 15h29.
  12. 15 hours 14. Within 15 kilometers we get the penultimate categorized climb of the day. Then we descend towards a (more) flat part, before we tighten up for the final climb and associated descent. .
  13. 15:13. Also now Barrenetxea grabs the full pot at the top of the climb. Josseaume and Vanhoucke can also add mountain points again. .
  14. 15h08. I had some bad luck yesterday, but there are still three beautiful stages that I still want to go for. . David Gaudu (3rd in the standings).
  15. Santa Koloma (3rd cat.). The leading group is at the foot of the Santa Koloma. A short climb of two kilometers that rises strongly at an average of 8.4%. . 15 o’clock 04.
  16. 15 hours .
  17. 2:55 PM. Bahrain also lends a helping hand. They have a candidate winner in the ranks with Mikel Landa. .
  18. 14 hours 48. Jumbo takes the lead. Harm Vanhoucke is the best placed rider in the leading group and almost virtually rides in yellow. Jonas Vingegaard is undoubtedly not worried about that, but the yellow brigade has nevertheless gathered at the head of the pack. .
  19. 2:30 pm. The leading group. In the leading group, Vanhoucke and Caicedo are the only two riders who have ever been on the podium in a stage of a grand tour. Caicedo won a stage in the Giro in 2020, Vanhoucke then finished third. Tesfatsion, Barennetxea and Jousseaume are still waiting for big results. The latter finished third in the Ronde van de Isard in 2020 behind our compatriots Henri Vandenabeele and Xandres Vervloesem. .
