Badmintonistastamaulipas climbed to the podium during the First School and Ranking Championship 2023 held over the weekend at the “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos” from San Luis Potosí, in the modalities of Singles, Mixed Doubles and Women’s and Men’s Doubles, Sub 11 and Sub 13 categories and which project the sowing of players with a view to the Junior Pan American and Caribbean Games, as well as Selective Nationals this year.

Event convened and promoted by the Mexican Federation of Badminton AC led by Francisco Javier Orozco Flores in which National Children’s Teams of this discipline from our country participated.

Ana Sofía Ruiz Gallardo obtained a bronze medal in Singles and Doubles, Sub 11 category; Evelyn Alejandra García Acevedo, bronze in Doubles Sub 13 category; Dania Mariel Montelongo, bronze medal in Doubles Under 13, and Saraí Guadalupe Riojas Rodríguez, bronze in Doubles Under 13.

Also bronze medal Leonardo Ezequiel López Espinoza and Martín Jaramillo Hernández, bronze medal in Sub 11, as well as Ana Sofía Ruiz Gallardo and Dania Mariel Montelongo, future promises of this sport.

With all the support of the Tamaulipas Sports Institute (INDE), the Badminton Association of our state attended the event, with 16 athletes and 3 coaches, achieving important results, which outline the new hotbed of badminton players, towards international borders of the sport of the specialty.

Melissa Bueno Ortega, Evelyn Alejandra Garcia Acevedo, Sarah Guadalupe Riojas Rodriguez, Jose de Jesus Arratia Rodriguez, Martin Jaramillo Hernandez, Genesis Dayana Nava Torres, Mia Guadalupe Cazares Perez, Leo Abimael Gallegos Dimas, Leonardo Ezequiel Lopez Espinoza, Francisco Alexander Quevedo Saucedo, Joaquin Samuel Hernandez Hernandez, Leonardo Ezekiel Jaramillo, Dania Mariel Montelongo and Ana Sofia Ruiz Gallardo.

On the other hand, Tamaulipas will participate in the CONADE Nationals the last week of May in the Under 15 and Under 17 categories, and in the first week of June the Under 19 category, all in Cuernavaca, Morelos state.
