Jon Rahm, to sign from today in Augusta his explosive start to the year

Jon Rahm aspires to sign his outstanding start to the season at the Augusta Masters. The Biscayan, who has trained these days under the guidance of José María Olazabal, will start his competition today with the Americans Justin Thomas and Cameron Young, scheduled to start at 4:42 p.m. Despite the fact that his results in March have diminished, four victories in eight outings, since the Spanish Open, a third, a fourth, a seventh and an eighth guarantee Rahm this season in a tournament that he is good at, as confirmed by his five top-10s in seven appearances.

At the same level is the latest winner in Augusta, world number one Scottie Scheffler, who has completed a prodigious month and a half since retaining the crown in Phoenix. He won The Players, was fourth in the Arnold Palmer and was close to getting into the World Cup match play final. He fell in the semifinals on the extra hole.

And, of course, Rory McIlroy. The Masters is the Great one that is missing. Last year he was second and of the last nine editions he finished seven in the top 10, although he was never as close as in 2011, when he was the leader with 9 holes to go.

Olazabal and García

The double winner of the jacket, José María Olazabal, will form a duo with Cameron Champ, starting at 3:06 p.m., while Sergio García will form a match with Adam Svensson and Sahith Theegala, starting at 3:12 p.m.

Another of the great incentives, Tiger Woods, five times winner, will do it with Xander Shauffele and Viktor Hovland, at 4:18 p.m.
