Ice Hockey – Walker to Schwenningen – Sport

Steve Walker, previously ice hockey assistant coach at EHC Munich, will become head coach at the Schwenninger Wild Wings. Walker, 50, won the championship title with Munich just a few days ago. The Canadian has a contract with the DEL club in Schwenningen until 2024. He is the successor to Harold Kreis, who switched to the post of national coach. “We want to build an ambitious and hungry culture in the team and take another step forward,” said Walker, who was a five-time champion with the Eisbären Berlin as a professional. Schwenningen was twelfth in the DEL table this season. At EHC Munich it is still unclear whether Don Jackson, 66, will remain as head coach. The future of the most successful coach in the German Ice Hockey League, who won a total of nine DEL titles, should be decided in the coming days.
