Formula 1 | Aston Martin, Krack realistic: “Red Bull is better at everything”

In a long interview granted to the columns of Auto Motor Und Sport, Mike Crack talked about the technical differences between the RB19 and the AMR23specifying how the former – thanks to the excellent winter development carried out by Red Bull – can count on a clear advantage in all macro-areas relating to performance.

In addition to speed on the straight – especially with DRS open – Max Verstappen and “Checo” Perez also showed great potential in the slow corners, confirming the excellent level of downforce expressed by the configuration studied by Adrian Newey for the 2023 car. A condition of absolute disadvantage which is forcing not only Aston Martin, but also Ferrari and Mercedes, to update their packages on several fronts.

“Red Bull is better in all areas of the car,” said the TP of theAston Martin. “This is the real aspect that complicates our run-up to the top. If there was a specific area it would clearly be easier. In that case we would know what to do, but unfortunately this is not the case. They are slightly superior in everything. The gap becomes very high in terms of top speed, but we notice that they are a little faster even in low speed corners. Their car is more efficient and they can also count on an important DRS effect. The only thing we can do is improve in all areas, even if it will clearly take time.”
