The Colombia selection youth directed by Juan Carlos Ramírez was eliminated from the South American Sub-17 in Ecuador by failing to beat Chile in the last match of the tricolor for group A of the contest. In the end they lost 2-0 and ended up saying goodbye to qualifying for the World Cup in the category.

Colombia had to go out yes or yes to beat Chile on the third date of the South American U-17 and after having lost in their last game against Brazil, the tricolor had to come out with their best weapons to achieve the result that would leave them with mathematical options to be in the final phase.

In most of the game Colombia had good options to open the scoring, but they continually failed in the definition and that became a trigger for the goal not to open for Juan Carlos Ramírez’s team.

Likewise, towards the end of the first half, Colombia had a goal disallowed after an offside by William López, who is one of the attackers who has stood out the most in recent games for the tricolor.

Before the start of the second half between Colombia and Chile, the match lasted several minutes without being able to resume, as heavy rain fell on the Monumental stadium in Guayaquil and this incident made it impossible for the game to continue.

However, after almost an hour after the game was interrupted due to rain, the Conmebol commissioners inspected the state of the field and after the field drained a little more, the match resumed at the Monumental de Guayaquil.

Apparently the long break helped Colombia gain more strength and insisted, but the Chilean goalkeeper became strong and kept the goal at zero.

Despite their insistence, Chile managed to prevail on the playing field and at minute 57 Víctor Campos was the one who opened the scoring in Guayaquil and finished burying all the hopes of Colombia in the South American U-17.

That goal against Colombia meant that Colombia did not meet and Chile took the opportunity to continue long on the scoreboard and at minute 77 Bejamín Riquelme for the 2-0 that left the tricolor without options.

In the end, Colombia did not even get the discount and thus ended its participation in the South American U-17, thus being left without the possibility of qualifying for the final phase of the youth competition that gave place to the World Cup in the category.
