Butyankov fired from Italian top league club “Givova”

Butyankov joined the ranks of “Givova” in mid-November, during which time he played in nine games of the A series, in which he scored an average of 3.7 points.

At the beginning of the season, the 31-year-old power forward Butyankov represented the Dutch basketball club Groningen “Donar”, where he averaged 14.7 points per game.

Butyankov joined Reggio Emilia at the end of last season, but before that he played for Russia’s second-highest league, or Super League, Samara, which he left two weeks after Russia’s re-invasion of Ukraine.

The Latvian basketball player has also represented Yaroslavl’s “Burevestnik” and Vladivostok’s “Spartak Primorje” in the Super League. In Latvia, the native of Rezekne played in the teams of “Ventspils”, “VEF Rīga”, “Valmieras”, “Barons kvartāls”, Liepāja and Jūrmala.

Butjankovs has played six games as part of the Latvian national team, scoring an average of 6.2 points.
