Finn Ole Becker was in the starting XI in two of the last three games, but now the competition is intensifying.

That was a tough start for Finn Ole Becker in Hoffenheim. TSG had signed two players on a free transfer last summer, but while Grischa Prömel played all games from the start until his injury (broken ankle), Becker, brought in from St. Pauli, only played two minutes of the first half of the Bundesliga season.
Only under the new coach Pellegrino Matarazzo did the stakes increase, in the last four games the 22-year-old was always on the pitch, twice even in the starting line-up. So also on Sunday in the 2-1 win in Bremen.

“I’m very happy, we all trembled until the end,” Becker assured after the win, which was hanging by a thread. “We’ve earned our luck because we managed the turnaround and somehow we’ve become a lot more of a team,” explains Becker, “you could see that on the pitch, everyone gives everything they have why we won.”
With the protagonist and not just the extras Becker. “I’m very happy that I can now play and show what I can do and thus help the team a little,” says the midfielder. “I’m enjoying the moment and want to build on that.” Also on Sunday in the important relegation duel with Schalke 04 “we have to show the same passion and appear with the same team spirit as in Bremen, then we will win”, Becker is sure.

On the other hand, he cannot be sure whether he will appear again. After all, the competition is great and will now become even more intense because Grischa Prömel is about to make a comeback again and is pushing back into the team.
In the medium term, however, Becker is planning his breakthrough in Hoffenheim, where he has signed until 2026.
