Balearia increases its routes between Denia and the Balearic Islands with the Bahama Mama

The maritime operator Balearia has announced that it will increase its routes between Denia and Ibiza and Palma with the new ferry ‘Bahama Mama’ during the summer season. The ship will be used to complete the daily rotation of the ‘Eleanor Roosevelt’ on the triangular route with Ibiza and Majorca and the connections of the ‘Ramon Llull’ with the Pitiusas.

In this way, the shipping company wants to meet the high demand in the summer season while reinforcing weekend trips between the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Consequently, the operator will offer four additional routes per week with the Ibizan enclave and two with Palma from mid-June.

So, Baleària will connect the peninsula with Ibiza in a three and a half hour journey from Monday to Friday, leaving at half past seven in the morning and returning at half past eight in the evening.

While, on Fridays and Sundays the ferry will cover the route to Palma, departing from the port of Ibiza at 11:30 in the morning and returning at 4:30 p.m. to Ibiza and Dénia. Moreover, trips will be able to enjoy additional services to meet the days of greatest demand during July and August.

On the other hand, Baleària has strengthened its route between Malaga and Melilla with the integration of a new ferry with electric propulsion and dual gas engines. This is the ‘Rusadir’, a newly built cruise ferry chartered for an initial stage of seven months and which has been operating since April 3 with six weekly rotations
