Badminton. Elite circuit in Quimperlé: the seeded in difficulty – Badminton

Quimperlé National Tournament

The seeds were the most affected by the opening of the competition. On the men’s side, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, Simon Baron and Grégoire Deschamp, were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Winners of their pool, the BC Oullins players then stalled, respectively against Sacha Leveque (BC Chambly) and Breton Amaury Lièvre (Guichen-Bourg des Comptes).

Baron fought well in three sets, but Deschamps was dominated by Lièvre in 28′.

Leo Van Gysel, facile

Seeded No. 3, Léo Van Gysel (BC Arras) fared better, spending less than 1 hour 30 minutes on the pitch to win, in straight sets, his two group matches and his quarter-final. Seeded No. 4, Marius Reboul (CES Tours) also failed in the quarter-finals against Dimitri Jacquart (RS Mulhouse).

With the elimination of these three seeds, it is now Léo Van Gysel the favorite. This Sunday, at 3:20 p.m., he will meet Amaury Lièvre in the last four, while Sacha Levêque and Dimitri Jacquart will face off for a place in the final.

Romane Cloteaux-Foulcault jostled

On the women’s side, the No. 1 seed, Romane Cloteaux-Foulcault (Le Volant Airois) qualified for the semi-finals, but she had a long and difficult match in three sets against the young Emilie Drouin (BC Chambly).

Seeded No. 2, Ophelia Casier (BC Fos) was eliminated in pool. The Chinese Wei Xu (BA Cholet) wandered around, spending barely an hour on the pitch to win her three qualifying matches. She will find Cloteaux in the semi-finals.

The other semi-final being played by outsiders Carla Dubois (Flume-Ille) and Lole Courtois (Ermont BC).
