The match ended in a goalless draw 0:0.

In the middle of the poor first half for scoring moments, only the excellent play of “Auda” goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa, saving the flying ball under the crossbar after Emerson’s shot, allowed the home team to keep the balance in the result.

At the end of the half, a good opportunity was wasted by Raivis Skrebels, who missed the goal from the goalkeeper’s line, sending the ball over the goal.

The nature of the game did not change in the second half either, both teams ended the battle with one point in the standings.

RFS started the season with draws against the other two medal winners of the previous season, “Valmiera” (0:0) and “Riga” team (1:1), but in the next two matches they won 2:0 against Jelgava and Liepāja football players. “Audai” had a more successful start to the season (2:0 victories over Salaspils “Super Nova” and “Metta”), but then two losses followed “Valmiera” (0:4) and “Riga” (0:2).

In October, in the final of the Latvian Cup, the players of “Auda” were superior with 1:0, Daniil Ulimbashev scoring the only goal.

It has already been reported that the leading team “Riga” defeated the team “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” 2:0 (1:0) away from home on Monday.

Both goals were scored by the winners after standard situations. In the 18th minute after a pass from Milos Jojic, Kemelo Nguena scored a goal with a free kick from the left side, but in the 88th minute after a corner kick from the left side by Jojic, Baba Musa jumped the highest on the edge of the goalkeeper’s area, sending the ball into the goal with his head.

In the 81st minute, Lukas Gonsalves earned the second yellow card of the match for a kick after the whistle, leaving his team in the minority, but this did not prevent them from winning.

“Riga” is at the top of the tournament table with 13 points in five games, RFS is next with nine points in five matches, “Valmiera” has scored seven points in four matches, and “Auda” has scored five points. Six points are for “Metta” who played three matches, “Liepāja” in four matches and “Jelgava” in five matches. “Daugavpilij” and “Super Novai” have three points each in four games, and “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” have five.

In the previous season, for the first time in history, Valmiers became the champions, “Riga” won the silver, and “RFS” won the bronze, while “Auda” won the Latvian Cup.

The champion will be determined after 36 rounds of matches, with each team meeting each other four times. A total of 180 games will be held.

The 2023 season is significant in that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system is being used for the first time in Latvia.
