ATP > Toni Nadal on Rafa: “We must not be mistaken. Certainly he will not come to Roland Garros with good preparation but if he is lucky enough to have an affordable draw in the first rounds, then everything can happen”

Present in Madrid alongside Felix Auger‐Aliassime for the Masters 1000 in the Spanish capital (April 26 to May 7), Toni Nadal was interviewed by the RTVE. And most of the questions obviously revolved around his nephew, who brought worrying news a few days ago about his state of form five weeks before the start of Roland-Garros (May 28 to June 11).

Optimistic, “uncle” Toni will undoubtedly give hope to Rafa fans.

“Rafael is recovering, I don’t think he is far from being able to resume competition. we must not be mistaken. Obviously, he will not come to Roland Garros with good preparation. Since January 18, he hasn’t played any matches, it’s been a while without competition. And before Australia he hadn’t played many matches either, but Rafa is picking up the pace quickly and in a Grand Slam it depends on the draw. If he is lucky enough to have an affordable draw in the early rounds, then anything can happen”said the Spanish coach.
