ATP – Monte Carlo > Draper (about Alcaraz): “I don’t think you can fully appreciate him until you play against him”

Since Monte‐Carlo where he spent the first round against Sebastian Baez (6−3, 7–5), the talented British Jack Draper (56e) talk to Tennis Majors Carlos Alcaraz as a benchmark he would like to compete with in the future.

“I have a lot of respect for him. He’s obviously an incredible player. What he has already done in tennis is already quite incredible. I’m not just talking about his tennis, but also about his physique and his mentality. I see it more as a benchmark for where I want to be each week. I want to be able to compete with him and hopefully win against him. He’s an incredible player. And I don’t think you can fully appreciate him until you play against him.”said the 21-year-old, who was able to fully appreciate the exceptional level of the Spaniard in their two games, in Basel in 2022 (victory in three sets of Alcaraz) and in Indian Wells this year (retirement de Draper at 6–2, 2–0 for Alcaraz).
