The Andrés Estrada Municipal Sports Center will host the first leg of the National League of Badminton Clubs this Saturday at 5:15 p.m. A sports event in which Recreativo IES La Orden faces Club Badminton Rinconada-Sevilla to fight for the title of the Top10 Iberdrola league, as indicated by the City Council in a press release.

In this regard, the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, María Teresa Flores, has shown herself to be “sure” that “it will be a very important day for badminton and for sports in Huelva in general”, therefore, “as It couldn’t be any other way, it has the full support of the Huelva City Council and we would also like to be able to count on the support of all the Huelva fans in the stands, cheering for victory to stay at home”.

“It is a great satisfaction to present an event in which Huelva will once again be the Capital of Sports, with the aspiration that it can reach the top of the ranking and a club as emblematic of Huelva as Recreativo is approaching the final duel with more guarantees. IES La Orden, of which the Huelva City Council is the main sponsor and which is undoubtedly a reference to our deep bond with badminton”, pointed out the mayor.

Therefore, this final has a team from Huelva from the IES La Orden category, which has become “the best badminton team of the last decade”, seven times winner of the League, from 2013 to the present. .

“This weekend, the capital is going to become a true sports benchmark both at a regional and national level, since it will host a competition that is going to be very close, with a total of seven games where the best athletes from badminton Spain”, remarked Flores.

In this sense, the president of Recreativo IES La Orden, María Eugenia Lorenzo, has emphasized that it will be possible to “see in action” players of the club “of the stature of Pablo Albian, four-time Olympian and number one in Spanish badminton”. , as well as “other great figures such as Haideé Ojeda or Telma Santos, a Portuguese player who is part of the Huelva team and who has also been an Olympian.”
