Zlatan Ibrahimovic (41) called up to start European Championship qualifiers against Belgium | European Championship qualifying round

Sweden’s national coach Janne Andersson announced a 26-man selection on Wednesday for the start of the European Championship qualifications at the end of this month against Belgium (March 24) and Azerbaijan (March 26). Andersson also has room for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has only just recovered from a serious knee injury at Milan. He has since made only 3 appearances with the Rossoneri.

The now 41-year-old Ibrahimovic announced his retirement after the 2016 European Championship, but subsequently reversed his decision.

In 121 games he hit 62 times for the Swedish national eleven. His last cap, meanwhile, dates from just under a year ago. In the play-offs for the World Cup qualifications against Poland, he was then allowed to come on for eleven minutes
