Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 3rd that it will hold the ‘2023 Yongin Mayor Citizens’ League Match’ at Namsa Baseball Stadium in Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu on the 4th. This league match will last until December.

Since 2017, the city has been running the Yongin Mayor Cup Competition as a citizen league. This is because it was judged that the league method allows wider citizen participation than the one-off tournament method and contributes to the vitalization of sports for everyday life.

In the aftermath of Corona 19, some events were not held last year, with only two events being operated: baseball (March-November) and badminton (July-December).

This year, soccer events will be newly organized, and civil league matches will be held in four events: baseball, foot volleyball, badminton, and soccer.

Baseball is held at Namsa Baseball Stadium from March to December. About 80 teams (about 1,500 people) will participate. Jokgu is held at 5 jokgu courts from April to October, and about 50 teams (about 500 people) participate.

About 700 people participate in badminton at exclusive stadiums in three districts from April to November to determine the best player. In addition, 40 teams (about 2,000 people) will participate in soccer competitions at dedicated stadiums in three districts from May to June. Each event goes through preliminary league matches by region, and then the final winner is determined through the final tournament.

Mayor Lee said, “I hope that the citizen league will be a place where sports enthusiasts can fully display their skills that have been honed so far.” I will go,” he said.
