Dortmund has a strong series in the German league. Die Schwarzgelben won for the 8th time in a row tonight. And that against another top team: RB Leipzig.

After the VAR had a goal rejected by Julian Brandt, Marco Reus opened the scoring from the spot. The 33-year-old captain scored his 159th goal for Dortmund, equaling Michael Zorc’s club record.

More than 80,000 fans cheered with delight, even as they saw Emre Can extend their lead before half-time. He made it 2-0 with a long shot.

Fifteen minutes before the end, Emil Forsberg scored for Leipzig, but Dortmund kept the 8th three-pointer in a row neatly in his pocket.

Red Devil Thomas Meunier remained on Dortmund’s bench for the entire match.

The club can now call itself the leader in the standings. Competitor Bayern Munich will play on the field of VfB Stuttgart tomorrow.
