The Medical Instinct Veilchen BG 74 Göttingen won 65:41 (39:18) against the Falcons Bad Homburg and with this success they qualified for the play-offs in the second basketball league one game day before the end of the season.

Göttingen – This victory was not in danger at any stage. Only in the initial phase was there a lead for the guests with the 6:5, but otherwise the hostesses determine this game, only allowing very difficult throws from the Hessians due to their well-known defensive strength. With a 9:0 run in the middle of the second quarter, the women from Göttingen pulled away from 20:14 to 29:14 and had already laid the foundation for the later victory by half-time with 39:18.

Although the Falcons were able to open the third quarter with a 16:16, they only managed to score seven points in the last quarter.

Outstanding once again in a team performance was Viki Karambatsa, who put down another double-double – 17 points, ten rebounds. Jennifer Crowder just missed a double-double with 18 points and nine assists.

“We’ve reached our goal of making the playoffs. I’m proud of this young team, which gave up a few games unnecessarily, in which it was very close at the end,” said Crowder, who made it clear that success was primarily to be found in the strong defensive performance that was shown again and again and ultimately also to find is.

Quarters: 15:9, 24:9 – 16:16, 10:7.
