The season turned out even better for Patricia than she had thought and hoped for.

“Never in my life did I even dream of becoming the leader of the U-23 group. Never,” Eiduka told Latvian Television’s Sports Studio. “Because it all seems so unattainable, completely unattainable, to be honest. Especially it makes it feel unattainable when you understand where you come from. From Latvia? I’m not saying anything bad about Latvia, but we don’t have any skiing history or tradition. Well, we don’t , and it seems that maybe it stops you from dreaming and believing. But actually, I’ve realized this season that it doesn’t matter where you come from. It just matters what kind of person you are.”

Patricia welcomed the end of the season in a special green vest with a starting number as the leader of the U-23 group, and the feelings were also special for the athlete.

“The feeling is that it is something special when you do it [vesti] put it on,” Eiduka admitted. “The first times I got him, I felt very insecure and unsure, because you were so happy, but it seems like, yeah, you’re going to lose him soon… You know, that kind of knocked that feeling away.”

When Patricia had already secured victory in the World Cup season in the U-23 age group, the feeling in the green vest was even more special. Patrícia was also easily recognized by her own people on television by her green vest.

“Actually, I could say that it is such a motivation to go and do it again and again, because right now I have the feeling – oh, I would like to wear a number of a different color someday,” Eiduka outlined already higher future goals.

Patrícia’s friend Uldis Spulle also admitted that the two of them talked about how unattainable the green number seems to be, but now it motivates them to get a number of a different color, and it is not at all impossible.
