Vanzeir back in Belgium this summer

Dante Vanzeir could finally return to Belgium this summer. The New York Red Bulls striker must indeed answer for his actions before the Louvain police judge on June 8. Last summer, Vanzeir drove under the influence of alcohol.

The former Union Saint-Gilloise player was arrested last summer after using his mobile phone while driving. After a blood alcohol test, it turned out that the striker had drunk too much. According to Het Nieuwsblad, it had a level of 0.47 mg/l. This means that the driver had to automatically give up his driving license for six hours.

Vanzeir faces a fine of 1,600 to 16,000 euros and a driving ban from eight days to five years. Using a phone while driving is also punishable by a heavy fine. Vanzeir faces another fine of 174 euros for using a mobile phone.

Vanzeir will return to Belgium a few days after his match with the New York Red Bulls. On June 4, he will play against Charlotte and on June 8, the hearing will take place. With or without the striker?
