The return of Andrew Wiggins is still in the air

Andrew Wiggins hasn’t played with the Warriors for a month and for now there are no clues as to when he might return. The forward left the discipline of the team for a personal reason coinciding with the All-Star celebration. For now, the franchise is limited to saying that they hope he will return before the end of the season. regular season, but they have no certainty; as expressed by Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Questioned about the situation of his player, Steve Kerr makes it clear that seeing him back as soon as possible is the team’s wish, but that is why they are not going to push in the slightest in that direction.

“That’s the hope. We’re giving him his space, as we’ve talked about, while he deals with something that is much more important than this, which is a game, a sport. If he can come back, that would be great. And if not, then that is the case. Whatever happens, we will handle it accordingly,” says the head coach of Californians.

Wiggins’ absence is vitally important to the Warriors. Last year he was an All-Star and in the playoffs he proved to be an essential piece averaging 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, also being a defensive bulwark that helped them enormously to get the championship ring.

The current one is being very different. He missed 15 games due to injury between January and December and now a family matter has arisen before which the Warriors have expressed their support without revealing anything else. Bob Myers, the team’s general manager, also recently commented that he expects him to return before the playoffs, but for now he is a complete unknown.
