The President grabbed the referee with his fists, but he was the one who ended up bleeding

The duel between Sergipe and Botafogo, for the Copa do Brasil, ended in the midst of a scandal over the performance of the main referee who was beaten by the president of the local team.

The match was easily won by Sergipe, however the judge added 9 minutes that he continued to extend until his rival equalized in a sequence of several corner kicks.

The series ended up giving Botafogo the qualification, something that has generated outrage in Brazil.

The displeasure was apparently widespread, to the point that Ernan Serna, president of Sergipe, went over to the central defender of the commitment who he grabbed with fists.

However, the assailant ended up attacked by the flag of one of the linesmen who went in support of the whistle and the manager left the field with his face covered in blood.
