The Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy holds a unique recruiting event on the Island

Hand in hand with the renowned brand of footwear, clothing and sports accessories New Balance, the Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy (CBBA) is preparing for what will be the first of four unique recruitment and exhibition events of its kind in Puerto Rico. This is the first time that a series of events like these, called Future Stars Series- Regional Combine, have been held on the island.

These events that include a showcase are very common in the United States, but not here in the country because of what is seen as a unique experience and a great opportunity for exposure, not only for CBBA students, but also for young people who are studying grades between ninth and twelfth and who practice baseball, although they do not belong to the academy.

“The World Baseball Classic showed us that the elite quality of baseball players does not fall only on players from North America. This is how we could see it with the current champion Japan and the great representation of the teams from the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, etc. So, being able to work on an event like this is very important for the development of our prospects and for them to feel that the opportunities are also real here on their island”, explained Orlando Meléndez, executive director of the CBBA.

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 starting at 8:00 am at the Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy grounds in the municipality of Florida. Space is limited for the first 200 interested young people who register and obtain their invitation pass through this link or by calling 787-822-6060.

It will be a week full of baseball and great opportunities for the participants since, the first Future Stars Series- Regional Combine It will be just the day before the now traditional CBBA Senior Tournament which is also open to the general public.

“We are very enthusiastic about the contribution to the future of Puerto Rican sports that we can achieve through events like this, we are the leading baseball player development academy in PR and achieving this type of initiative is essential to start stimulating good and important changes for the baseball of our country”, added the former major league player and owner of the academy, Carlos Beltrán.
