Tennis as the elixir of life

If you want to live longer play Tennis! SO WE CAN SUMMARY THE SERVICE THAT THE SPORTING CLUB SAN SEVERO OFFERS TO ITS NON-PRACTICING MEMBERS AND TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENCES IN THE CITY OF SAN SEVERO.

An important study has established that tennis is the best sport for lengthening life and the Sporting Club San Severo will help you keep fit and healthy.
The Copenhagen City Heart Study (CCHS) is a 25-year, prospective population-based study of 8577 participants in Denmark, using detailed questionnaires on their physical activity and sport and combining data on mortality.

The review ended in 2017. The study was conducted by researchers at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings, and supported by the Danish Heart Foundation.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the various improvements in life expectancy associated with sport practice. The sports practiced by the participants were cycling, swimming, running, tennisbadminton, football and various gym activities.

The results produced by this study indicate that, although cycling is widespread in Denmark, it is precisely tennis players who have greater longevity with a record life span gain of almost 10 years compared to a sedentary individual. Next is badminton, similar to tennis, which the Italian Badminton Federation and the Italian Federation of Tennis e Padel, in synergy with each other, promote in schools nationwide with the Racchette di Classe project. Very detached is football with 4.7 years, less than half of tennis. This was followed by cycling with 3.7 years, swimming with 3.4 years, jogging with 3.2 years, rhythmic gymnastics with 3.1 years and gym fitness with 1.5 years.

The researchers took into account the education level, socio-economic status and age of the participants and found that these factors do not influence the results.

Interestingly, leisure sports, which inherently involve more social interaction, have been associated with better longevity, a finding that will be the subject of further investigation.

In collaboration with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, the Sporting Club San Severo promotes a FREE COURSE reserved for over 65s who have never played tennis. Like every activity that the San Severese club offers, the courses are held by instructors qualified by the Italian Tennis Federation and directed by the National Coach Mattia Mancini.
