Former professional basketball player, Ruben Nembhard, who now plays the role of technical director of Gaiteros del Zulia, led his first full practice session with said team ahead of the 2023 Superliga de Baloncesto season.

The team did hard work that will allow them to reach the new Venezuelan basketball course in the best conditions, where they aspire to improve their performance and beat the odds against them.

Nembhard, who is considered by many to be the best player in the history of Pipers, arrived on Marabino soil after 10 years of absence to lead his first full practice with the team, and who appears as the hope of changing the results of said franchise.

The American comes as the hope of Gaiteros to become one of the best teams in the tournament for this edition, after signing a very poor 2022 campaign where they achieved just 5 wins in the regular season.

In said practice, Jorge Arrieta (first assistant) and Kevin Palacio (second assistant) accompanied Nembhard to work out all the details of the game that will allow them to have greater playing options on the court against any rival.

The national players who were present in said practice are Darío Castro, Yanicson Quintero, Jorge Rondón, Karil Suárez, Nirimberg Escalona, ​​Jesús Centeno, Lenin López, Germán Chourio and Gabriel Estrella, while all the imported players joined, such as Brandon Sebirumbi, Matt Butler, Chaed Bradley, Nathan Priddy, and Terry Laier.
