Six homes let off steam at the adapted sports day in Loudéac – Loudéac

” Yeah ! We did it ! Gwenola, 72, does not hide her joy: she has just knocked over a bowling pin, under the gaze of her friends from the Moncontour living center. Like her, this Thursday, March 9, around forty people with mental and psychological disabilities are throwing (balls, pucks, arrows, etc.) at the Loudéac Sports Palace. They are between 20 and 72 years old (Gwenola is the senior), and come from six surrounding structures, the medico-educational institute (IME) of Saint-Bugan, the homes of Moncontour, Ploeuc-L’Hermitage, Plaintel, Pommeret and Gouarec.

“The seven workshops (handball, archery, hockey, kin-ball, etc.) make it possible both to maintain motor skills and to provoke encounters with people from other centers”, explains Stéphane Maupillier, President of the White Butterflies Associationco-organizer of the day with the departmental adapted sport committee 22. Some workshops were also led by trainees from the Breton Sport and Animation Institute of Morbihan. The next day, co-organized with college students, will take place in Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem on April 6.
