Provincial senator Antonio Taveras will assume the presidency of the Comitted Organizer of the VIII Superior Basketball Tournament of the Province of Santo Domingoscheduled to be held from the month of August this year.
The announcement was made this Friday. William Cabral (We Don’t Change), president of the Basketball Association of the Santo Domingo Province (Abasado), who stressed that at a meeting of the Executive Committee of that entity, the dedication initiative was submitted and unanimously approved by those present.
Cabral said that Senator Taveras has become a faithful collaborator of the sports activities of the Province of Santo Domingo and basketball will benefit greatly in organizational, sporting, economic and social aspects.
The Santo Domingo championship will be resumed after almost eight years without being held and the six traditional franchises that are the clubs Los Mina, Calero and Orientales from Santo Domingo Este will participate, as well as the sets from Caobas City (formerly Industriales) from Santo Domingo West, the Trains of Santo Domingo Norte and Los Caminantes (formerly Atléticos) of Los Alcarrizos.
