Ghostface, famous masked killer of the film saga Scream, was spotted on several live cams in the United States walking the streets and stopping on street corners. Despite people’s immediate concerns, the presence of the serial killer in some US cities is easily explained.
It is a viral marketing campaign set up by Paramount to spread the word of the release of Scream 6 in cinemas on March 10th. In Italy the film will be released one day earlier, on March 9. On Everyeye you will find the trailer of Scream 6.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Scream 6 will see Ghostface move from Woodsboro to New York City, reuniting with many of the characters from the last film released in 2022, Scream. And just this new traveling Ghostface who leaves Woodsboro for the Big Apple inspired the Paramount marketing campaign.
A few months ago Paramount ran a very similar campaign for the release of Smile, placing several people with eerie smiles posted at home bases on baseball fields, where live cams could pick them up.
Hayden Panettiere will return in Scream 6 and will join in the cast Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori and Dermot Mulroney. The Scream franchise was created in the 1990s by Wes Craven and consists of six films and one television series so far.
