In an entertaining match, San Marcos de Arica beat San Luis de Quillota 1-0 at the Carlos Dittborn. The locals had two clear chances to open the scoring in the first half. At 25′ Azócar faced the right sector of the area and got ready to shoot on goal, but Moiraghi swept over and prevented the possible conquest.
However, the most dangerous occasion came at 45′, with a missed penalty kick by Monroy, who shot at goal and found a solid Avellaneda. So they went to break.
In the second stage, San Marcos de Arica managed to open the account at 53′ after a free kick that was partially contained by goalkeeper Avellaneda, rebounding and allowing Eduardo Farías’ header, who scored 1-0 for the locals.
San Luis failed to cause damage to the rival goal, with the local team having a very clear opportunity to score a second goal, after a great maneuver by Cisterna from the left at 81′, although crashing his shot off the crossbar.
About the closing, in additional time, Cáceres was expelled for a double yellow, thus closing the Canarian fall in the north and the first victory of San Marcos de Arica in the Betsson Ascent.
