Portugal feasted on half a dozen goals against Luxembourg in the continued Euro 2024 Qualification. They won 6-0 with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a brace.

Portugal travels to Luxembourg at the Stade de Luxembourg, Monday (27/3/2023) early morning WIB, in the continuation of the 2024 European Cup Qualification. A Selecao has led 4-0 in the first half.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened Portugal’s goal in the 9th minute. Bruno Fernandes’ cross was reflected by Nuno Mendes towards Ronaldo, and the 38-year-old striker finished it from close range.

Joao Felix then increased the advantage in the 15th minute. Bernardo Silva was free to send a pass from the right and was grabbed by Joao Felix with a header.

Just three minutes later, Portugal scored the third goal. This time it was Bernardo Silva who headed Joao Palhinha’s cross into the middle of the penalty box.

Ronaldo had scored his second goal in the 31st minute. Luxembourg lost the ball and Fernandes found Ronaldo, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.

Portugal scored its fifth goal in the 77th minute, again with a header. Rafael Leao’s cross was headed by Otavio and could not be stopped by goalkeeper Anthony Moris.

Portugal received a penalty in the 84th minute, after Leao was fouled by goalkeeper Anthony Moris. Leao steps up as the executor and his shot to the left reads and blocks!

GOAL! Leao made amends for his missed penalty with a goal in the 88th minute. Receiving a pass from Ruben Neves on the left, Leao cut into the middle and finished with a shot that Moris was able to stop.

With this victory, Portugal leads Group J of Euro 2024 Qualification with six points from two matches. Ronaldo et al are two points ahead of Slovakia and then three points ahead of Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland.

Luxembourg is in fifth place with one point, while Liechtenstein still hasn’t got a point from two matches.
