Rodionov loses in Challenger quarterfinals from Pau

Jurij Rodionov was eliminated on Friday in the quarter-finals of the ATP Challenger in Pau, which is endowed with 145,000 euros.

Austria’s currently second best tennis player had to bow to Frenchman Luca van Assche with 6:4.3:6.3:6.

The 23-year-old’s downfall was above all the moderate exploitation of chances. While Van Assche was able to use five of his six break points, Rodionov only converted three out of ten.

Nevertheless, as of Monday, Rodionov is again among the top 130 in the ATP ranking.
