After the successes obtained in the Galician Championship, with medals for practically all its representatives, this weekend Ravachol Pontevedra certified its permanence for one more season in the Honor Division of national badminton, by beating San Fernando Valencia at home by 5 to 2.
The people from Pontevedra started hitting first in the mixed doubles, with Jacobo and Elena Fernández beating the local duo of Fran Olivares and Ania Setién. The Valencian team tied the contest in the men’s doubles and it was the women’s duo (formed by the British Georgina Bland and Lisa Curtin) who made it 1-2 in five sets. When it came to the individual matches, Ravachol was the superior team, thanks to the victories in their respective matches by Lisa Curtin, Arturo Fernández and Manuel Brea, which finally sealed the permanence for Ravachol and the third win so far this season.
