Quotas in Fonadin booths increase in price: from when and what is the increase – El Sol de México

After postponing the decision for a week, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) reported that starting this Monday there will be an increase in the toll for highways by the National Infrastructure Fund (Fonadin).

As announced at the beginning of February, the increase will be 7.82 and not 15 percent as requested by Fonadin to adjust rates according to inflation in 2021 and 2022.

Through a statement, the agency in charge of Jorge Nuño Lara reported the cost adjustment “after two years in which said rates will not present any increase.”

For now, the decision leaves out of the increase the highways managed by Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe), which were originally contemplated for the increase.

However, after complaints from business chambers and carriers, the SICT’s decision was indefinitely postponed and did not take effect on March 1, as planned.

Now, with this increase, the Secretariat instructed Fonadin to carry out “the necessary actions to guarantee that the physical state of the highways has the optimal level of service.”

The adjustment of all highways can be consulted on the page:
