As a journalist, Thijs Slegers was a PSV watcher for various media for many years. In 2015 he joined PSV as press officer. He fulfilled that role with passion for seven years. In 2020, his world changed when he was diagnosed with acute leukemia. After a difficult medical process, he resumed his work at PSV in good spirits. At the beginning of this year, he was told by the doctors that there was nothing more they could do for him.
Relentlessly combative
Thijs has been unabated in recent times for the recruitment of blood and stem cell donors. He did, as always, with great success. Thousands of people have recently registered with the Matchis and Sanquin foundations.
The club is thinking of his family and all relatives and wishes everyone a lot of strength in processing this great loss.
