Pelé’s will: he bequeaths 30% to his widow and mentions a woman who could be his daughter

King Pelé passed away on December 29 and left behind a huge legacy. Sporting and social, first. But also financial. The lawyer for the Brazilian’s widow revealed the details of his will to AFP on Tuesday. His third and last wife, Marcia Cibele Aoki, is expected to inherit 30% of his assets, including the house where they lived in Guaruja and a resort in Sao Paulo.

His lawyer, Luiz Kignel, added that the total amount of the estate was not yet known. The former football star also owned other real estate and a brand in his name. The complete inventory has not yet been carried out.

“The Existence of Another Girl”

Me Kignel also mentioned the possible existence of a girl not recognized by Pelé. This is mentioned in the Brazilian’s will. “He indicated the possibility of the existence of another daughter, whose recognition will depend on a DNA test which could not be carried out (on Pele) due to the pandemic and his state of health. »

According to the lawyer, it is a Brazilian woman who would have taken legal action for a search for paternity. In September 2022, the Sao Paulo court ordered Pelé to submit to a DNA test, according to the G1 site. If this woman was indeed the daughter of the Brazilian icon, it would be her eighth child. If recognized, she would be entitled to a portion of the remaining 70% of the estate, reserved for her offspring.

Married for the first time in 1966, Pelé had then had three children. He also had a daughter following an extramarital affair in 1968. He did not recognize it until 2002. The triple world champion was then married a second time in 1994 and had twins.

Another child from a relationship with a housekeeper was born in 1964. She was not recognized until 1996 after a court decision. She died of cancer in 2006. Pelé had no children with his third and last wife.
