This is what the ESPN network learned on Monday.

Goodell is expected to get his new deal next week at a scheduled owners meeting in Phoenix. It would seem that this makes the 64-year-old the highest paid commissioner on the planet.

The native of Jamestown, New York, has been on the job since August 2006 and has seen his contract renewed three times already. His current deal is due to end in March 2024.

Recently, Goodell and his circuit reached an agreement with the Players Association regarding a new collective agreement. The NFL has also signed new agreements for its television rights with the CBS, NBC, FOX and ESPN networks, as well as with the web giant Amazon. The value of these contracts would be more than $100 billion.
