In the very hard since the start of the 2022-23 season of DP World Tour – a cut cleared in five starts – Nacho Elvira apparently woke up in Nairobi. Solid Thursday with an inaugural 67 (-4) without bogey, the 36-year-old Spaniard, a success on the Tour (at Cazoo Open 2021), confirmed this Friday on the Muthaiga Golf Club with an excellent 65 (-6) concluded by a sublime sequence of 16 to 18 with two birdies and an eagle.

His -10 (132) after 36 holes allows him to take control of the tournament, one point ahead of three sharp-toothed young wolves. from PQ3 last November in Tarragona (Spain), the German Nick Bachem, 23, played 67 (-4). Considered the future great South African golfer, Jayden Schaper21, returned a very nice 65 while the Japanese Ryo Hisatsune20 years old, who offered himself the orders to Ras Al Khaimah after 18 holes at the beginning of February, exploded the course with a magnificent 63 (-8), card of the week so far.

« I didn’t start the game very wellhe admits. I started by returning five meters for par on the 10th… I got away from the flags and made two three-putts on the 12th and 15th. (left from 10). I managed to stay patient and took advantage of the easy holes to slip 3 birdies (at 17, 18 and 4). I finish with a bogey with a wedge in hand, which gives a little bitter taste to this end game.
