By Juan Paez

Right-handed pitcher Miguel Romero, belonging to the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball, confessed to the media in Cuba’s training sessions at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida. There, in just hours, Cuba will play the ticket to the final of the World Baseball Classic.

Miguel Romero has been one of the best in terms of Cuban pitching in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

The 28-year-old right-hander, who could be close to the major leagues, is the tournament leader in strikeouts (12) and has scored two of Cuba’s three victories so far. In 8.1 innings pitched, he didn’t allow a run, got only five hits and didn’t walk. He has appeared in four of Cuba’s five games so far.

However, Miguel Romero leaves the decision of each person to join Cuba for future tournaments to their own will.

“Whoever wants to play, let them play. Everyone has their opinion about him. If they can all play, better, it will be better for everyone. It would be an amazing team. I recommend that anyone who wants to play come play, and anyone who doesn’t want to play should not play. Everyone is great and knows what they are doing, ”he finished.
