Rostock Seawolves lose against Würzburg

Rostock (dpa / mv) – The Rostock Seawolves have suffered another home defeat in the basketball Bundesliga. On Saturday evening, the team of head coach Christian Held lost 72:76 (38:36) to the Würzburg Baskets in the Stadthalle and thus left the field as a loser for the 13th time in the 25th game. The best pitchers for the promoted team were Sid-Marlon Theis and Tyler Nelson with 14 points each.

The Seawolves got into the game better and ended the first quarter with a 20-13 lead. In the second half of the game, too, the hosts dominated what was happening on the field and continued to pull away with a 9-0 run. After the interim 31:15, however, the flow of the game was lost. Würzburg found their way back into the encounter and was able to reduce the gap to two points by the break.

The course was similar after the change of sides. Thanks to an 8-0 run, Rostock pulled away again, but Würzburg responded a little later with a 10-0 series and went into the final section with a narrow lead. In this, the Seawolves were unable to turn the tide. Würzburg always kept the Held team at bay with a few points and never let the victory slip out of their hands.
