Matthew K. Bergeron impresses at Pro Day

After leaving his mark during the Combine, a stage that prepares the ground for the National Football League draft, Victoriaville’s Matthew K. Bergeron once again shone during Pro Day at Syracuse University.

Seven players were on hand, at the university where he played in the NCAA, to impress scouts from 31 NFL teams. Again, the physical tests were numerous. Matthew took the opportunity to demonstrate his athletic skills with, among other things, 29 repetitions of the bench press.

He also clocked an excellent time of 7.27 seconds at the 3 Cone Drill, positioning him among the best prospects at this event.

“I had prepared well for Pro Day, another opportunity to promote myself to recruiters. But until the draft, I will now focus on training,” said the 23-year-old offensive lineman.

Matthew also continues to draw attention with his prowess in these activities, in addition to doing well in interviews with NFL teams.

“I am always positive and I can thus make myself better known. It’s always important to build good relationships because, during my career, it’s very possible that I will eventually change teams,” he says.

As for the National Football League draft, which will take place from April 27 to 29, it will be live from the family residence, in Victoriaville, that Matthew will experience this major event.

“I will be surrounded by my family and several friends to experience this unique moment. I don’t know of course when I will be drafted. Some pundits predict it will be in the second round, but I’m not too worried about that. The important thing is that the team that chooses me will believe in me,” he concludes.
